How do I get to Ollantaytambo to take my train?
We’ll pick you up at your hotel in Cusco city (very early in the morning) to take you to Ollantaytambo city by bus, the bus ride lasts about 2 hours, it’s suggested to be at the Ollantaytambo railway station half an hour before your train departure time.
From Ollantaytambo station to Aguas Calientes by train:
At Ollantaytambo train station, we’ll take either PeruRail or IncaRail train company towards the city of Aguas Calientes, the train ride takes about 2 hours. In Aguas Calientes, you’ll have a few minutes of free time on your own.
From Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu ruins + guided tour:
In Aguas Calientes city, make your way on your own to the bus station for Machu Picchu ruins, the bus ride along the Hiram Bingham highway takes approximately 30 minutes; be at the main entrance door to the Inca citadel at 11 am, our tour guide will be there waiting for you.
You’ll be a guided tour of the Machu Picchu Inca citadel from about 11 am to 1 pm, afterwards, you are going to have free time photograph and walk on your own within the ruins. After this awe-inspiring experience, you must return on your own to Aguas Calientes city to board your train to Ollantaytambo.
At Ollantaytambo train station, we’ll be waiting for you with a vehicle to return to Cusco city.
