Our tour to Machu Picchu by bus of 2 days / 1 night is for visitors who want to save money and most importantly for visitors who love walking because this experience requires a total of 6 hours walk along the railroad, from the Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes city and vice versa.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Day 1: Cusco to Hidroeléctrica by bus | Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes on foot
We leave at about 7 am from Cusco city towards the hydroelectric (the meeting place will be coordinated internally by e-mail), we start the walk at the hydroelectric for about 3 hours until we reach Aguas Calientes city and spend the night in this town.
During the 7-hour bus ride, we will make a stop in Santa Teresa city for lunch.
Day 2: Guided visit of Machu Picchu and return to Cusco
Have your breakfast very early in the morning at your hotel and then go on your own to the Aguas Calientes bus station to go up to Machu Picchu ruins (the bus ride takes about ½ an hour and the buses leave every 10 minutes).
Our guide will be waiting for you outside the main gate of the archaeological site of Machu Picchu, next, you will enter this wonder to have the guided tour with an expert guide. Afterward, you’ll have to return to Aguas Calientes city on your own at no later than 9:30 am and next make your way to the hydroelectric on foot (this walk also takes about 3 hours) — you have to be back at the hydroelectric at no later than 2 pm to board your bus back to Cusco city.
