Our tour to Machu Picchu by bus of 2 days / 1 night is for visitors who want to save money and most importantly for visitors who love walking because this experience requires a total of 6 hours walk along the railroad, from the Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes city and vice versa.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Day 1: Cusco to Aguas Calientes by bus + walk
We leave at about 7 am from Cusco city towards the hydroelectric (the meeting place will be coordinated internally by e-mail), we start the walk at the hydroelectric for about 3 hours until we reach Aguas Calientes city and spend the night in this town.
During the 7-hour bus ride, we will make a stop in Santa Teresa city for lunch.
Day 2: Guided visit of Machu Picchu and return to Cusco
Make your way to Manco Capac plaza of Aguas Calientes city, be there at 6:30 am; our tourist guide will be waiting for you at this plaza, once we have all the attendees for this tour, we’ll go to the bus station to take a quick bus ride through the Hiram Bingham road towards Machu Picchu ruins. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes.
After reaching the exterior of the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu, you will enter this wonder to take the guided visit with our expert guide. Afterwards, you’ll have to return to Aguas Calientes city at no later than 11 am and then make your way to the hydroelectric on foot (this walk also takes about 3 hours) — you have to be back at the hydroelectric at no later than 2:30 pm to board your bus back to Cusco city.
